A fun, educational and family-oriented event, the Prairie Heritage Festival is intended to promote an understanding of what our region of Texas looked like before the settlers came. The prairie and other ecosystems, featuring animals and plants, can be experienced by participating in hands-on and how-to activities that are entertaining, kid-centric, engaging and informative. Nature tours, live animals, performers, kids’ crafts and exhibits are just some of the offerings for all age levels. Participants can also learn what they can do to preserve, restore and recreate native habitats.
